We officially welcomed our first guests in the fall of 2019, but the land is rich in history from long before. Well known as one of the founding families of Fredericksburg, the Klein’s lived on these grounds during the mid-1800s, followed by the Schmidt family, during the late 1800’s to early 1900’s. We respect the historical family heritage by maintaining the old Schmidt homestead, built by second Schmidt generation in 1912. Plans are underway to restore and keep a historical focal point for our vineyard reflecting homage to the families. Both the Schmidts and Kleins now rest in harmony, buried right here on the Augusta Vin Estate.  

We are proud to be the next group to call this place home, following in the footsteps of these historical figures. Our 60-acre vineyard was planted in 2017 using 10 different varietals from around the globe all picked to thrive in our unique Texas climate. In the summer of 2019, we completed the construction of our 2-story timber-framed tasting room that provides exceptional views of our vineyard and a relaxing place to learn about and enjoy our large portfolio of wines. We encourage you to come by and immerse yourself in the history of this land and take a peek at the future we hope to create.
